January 20th
CMU (Canadian Mennonite University) is offering Take Note: The University Lecture. Take Note is a workshop on the art of note-taking in the university setting, and is open to all homeschooled students in grades 11 and 12.
The day will start at 1:30pm with an introduction and short lesson on note-taking methods and techniques for university.
After this lesson, the participants will receive a 45-minute lecture from a CMU faculty member. This year’s workshop will feature Dietrich Bartel, Associate Professor of Music in the areas of Music History and Musicology.
Following the lecture the participants will meet with current 3rd and 4th year CMU students who were also at the lecture. Participants will have the opportunity to go over their notes with these students, and will receive feedback on how to improve. At this time they may also receive free gelato in the folio café, which is located in our new Marpeck Commons, Library & Learning Commons.
During this time (3:00-4:00pm), parents are invited to meet with CMU staff at Marpeck Commons, who will be happy to answer any questions they may have.
If you are interested in taking part in this fun and helpful event, please sign up by emailing [email protected], no later than January 15th, 2016.
